Currently, we work with eco-lodges/tours in Ecuador in creating itineraries, developing and editing marketing collateral, and utilizing in-house contact data bases to promote FAM trips, press releases, specials and initiate new connections with travel partners. In addition, we have provided recommendations for organizational structuring of reservation systems and tours.
Green Horse RanchGreen Horse Ranch offers horseback trips that lead through the very heart of the Ecuadorian Andes and their unique beauty. On multi-day trips, the remarkable scenery changes from day to day taking the traveler on horseback through lush green cloud forests as well as desert-like landscapes, deep river canyons and steep mountain slopes, hot sunny valleys and cool windy heights, picturesque farming land and silent crater lakes. Due to the remoteness of the area, overnight accommodations vary from family-style haciendas, hotels or tents, with basic amenities; shared, cozy and clean.
The owner, Astrid Muller, is an expat from Germany. Green Horse ranch was founded on her love for horses and the beauty of Ecuador. Having lived in Ecuador for over 20 years, she is a wonderful source for information about Ecuador.
A haven for birders and naturalists, this area boasts 500 of the 1800 bird species found in Ecuador, in one of the most bio diverse areas on the planet. Set in a delicate paradise of orchids, see-through butterflies and mammoth tree ferns, Pachijal Reserva Ecologica Lodge offers accommodations in a place integrated with nature. Experience your choice of serenity, birding, tubing, hiking, or horseback riding with experienced indigenous guides.
The owners, Renato and Pierre, are currently establishing a private university in Quito specializing in naturalist, environmental and biological studies. Pierre has over 22 years of experience heading numerous NGO projects focusing on the establishment of medical and educational centers throughout Latin America. An Italian by birth, he has chosen to call Quito and the Mindo Cloud Forest home.
Renato, based in Milan, Italy, but with his heart in the Mindo Cloud Forest, highly recommends selecting your travel based on the natural cycle of the forest, perhaps when your cherished flower is blooming, or during the height of mating season of your favorite hummingbird.
The owners of Pachijal now offer adventure eco-treks to a hidden treasure found in the northwest of Ecuador, Playa de Oro. A long held dream of Renato and Pierre was to bring tourists to this little visited area, the lodge at Playa de Oro offers a truly “off the beaten track” discovery for visitors.
The deep green expanse of the Amazon rainforest begins in Ecuador and stretches across Latin America to the shores of the Atlantic. Here, where rivers serve as highways and a machete is an essential hiking tool, the rainforest buzzes, shrieks, and pulsates with life both day and, even more so, at night. Award-winning, Yachana Lodge, 2 hours by canoe from Coca, offers a unique experiential learning experience aimed at educating visitors about environmental and cultural sustainability while providing a window into the world of the Amazonian people.
Yachana's owner, Dougals McMeekin, an expat from the United States, has put his life into establishing the Yachana Technical High School, the only one of its kind in the Amazon. It is comprised of students from 8 distinctive indigenous tribes. The aim of the high school is to teach students hands-on practical skills such as English, ecotourism and micro-enterprises along with animal husbandry, sustainable agriculture and fish farming. Visiting Yachana is a fantastic cultural discovery opportunity. Other accomplishments for Douglas include developing a chocolate farmer’s cooperative, purchasing and creating a nature preserve, and establishing a medical center.
